As I write this a dear friend is going home, shedding this flesh body and continuing on with her light body. Those whom she leaves behind are missing her already but the birthing pain was too much to bear so that has made it easier for them to deal with this.

Death is a messenger of joy to the person dying.  It's the busiest messenger because thousands  are birth into the new world each and every day, every hour, every minute, every second..

Thoughtful Tuesday

I woke up on Tuesday morning to the kindness of stranger whom I believe is my neighbour. She is 80 plus and I am way younger than her but my sidewalk was shovelled even the path at the back of my house. I was touched to tears.  How thoughtful could people be. I am so blessed and so thankful.  I am filled with gratitude. She is my thoughtful angel or if I am wrong, whoever it is that did that, they did a lot because sometimes I create track by walking up and down the path. As you can tell, I am not fond of the snow. It is a necessary chore of living on the prairie.  Thank you, thank you, thank you my angel.

Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy because we will always want to have something else or something more.

Moody Monday Morning

It's Monday morning and everywhere is white. First real snow in my neck of the wood and it's the conversation of the day as if it is something foreign on this prairie land of the lady of the snow Canada. That how we folks are here. We love talking about our terrible weather, it breaks the ice - no pun intended. It is a laugh generator - we bitch and collapse in stitches of laughter. Yeah people are good and easy going and enjoy simple pleasures. I took talk about the snow but not to sound self-righteous or anything like it, I sure glad I am not in the Philippines or Midwest USA where the weather had the last laugh on folks there. We humans think we are so mighty with our science and technology but we have to bow to the weather because when it is sometimes like a feather and at times its heavy foot leave marks than can never be repaired or never go away from one's consciousness. Freaky Friday

Today I saw a man searching in the phone booth checking out where the return money drops into to see if there was any money.  He was just looking to find money and I felt moved to push my hand in my pocket and see what I have.  I had a shiny loony or Canadian dollar and I walked up to this young man and said I saw you looking there for change and handed him the money. He looked at me funny, clearly not a familiar behaviour from a stranger, but he reached out and took it and started looking at the dollar turning it over I guess to see if it is real, then he slowly smiled and said thanks.  That made me feel so happy. I guess I got more out of that exchange than him.

I walked away and thanked the Creator for the abundance in my life and the man for giving me the opportunity to share with him by accepting my gift.

If others are mirror of ourselves, if we are one and if no one appears at random in one's life but due to some previous soul contract or as teacher for us, it's too freaky to contemplate that young man showed up when he did just for me to practice generosity.

Ego

I believe the ego has a function in our lives that's why it is there.  It is there to protect us and to alert us when we are entering a danger field but most of the time it acts to quickly and jump to our rescue when we do not need it.  Whenever you find that your ego is over active what I do is to simply thank it.  I say thank you my friend for bringing so and so to my attention or for reminding me of a past mistake but I got this one. It's okay and it quiets down just like that.
  For example if  I am attempting to be generous by giving a good donation, the ego will remind me that I have a lot of debts, I can't afford it and I should not do it. I then have to convince it that it is better to give than to receive and that I will be in a better place in the end, I will be happier. Then we move on.
Become friends with your ego. It''s job is to help you.

How are you feeling on this beautiful Friday morning? I hope that you are looking forward to the weekend, have some plans to have fun.  There are so many things you can do for fun from the simple to the blow-out-of the-water-activity.  Here are ten things you can do that will cost you nothing:
- 20-30 minute walk either alone or with friends
- find a neighbourhood second hand store and browse through  - look at the knick-knacks and try to find the story in a few - this is so much fun. Things that are given away once meant everything to someone but time changes everything including the value of things. It's like life - just a flow.
- call up someone you have not spoken to for a long time and brighten up their day
- sky-watch - observe the movement of the clouds and the pictures they make
- pamper yourself a little - spend an extra hour in bed
- Give yourself a manicure, spend some time filing your nail and then put some nail polish on it and feel like you are giving this to a special friend
- Make time to look at your favourite movie
- Read something uplifting - maybe a short story
- Start a gratitude journal if you do not have one already
- Play one of your favourite fast tunes and dance as if no one's watching, just let it all hang.
