Do you know somebody who suffers from excessive blaming of others? Of course you do. The person gets a list of resentments about things that were done to them… and then that list tends to grow out of control.

Here's the thing. When you blame and resent people for the past, you're giving them responsibility over important parts of your life. Now they're responsible, not you. You give them that responsibility, even though they may have screwed up! Doesn't make sense, right?

On the other hand, some people in our lives - colleagues, friends, parents, family members - DID play an important part in our life story, right? They did have an effect on us, and in some cases they did hurt us.

So how do you deal with that disparity? In this video, Tony will show you a strategy called "Conscious Blaming." This strategy gives you a win-win: you get to blame others for things that happened to you BUT in a way that won't hurt you. Mieke was able to unlock and release a whole set of resentments and self-limitations, and live an expanded life.

Something of a meditation for you today

How are you doing? Just wanted to let you know you are deeply loved and appreciated. Have a blissful day. I just walked to work. It was about 45 minutes walk. I feel great. I am happy.

Walk quickly today, not because you are in a hurry, but because you value the exercise for legs and heart. As you walk, allow your thoughts to visit you, but not stay. Let them come to pass, and you will be surprised how quickly they become positive, and filled with creative ideas. And paradoxically, if you stay internally aware, you may notice that the quicker you walk, the more your thinking slows down and deepens. Walking briskly and positive thinking - that's the simplest way to take care of body and mind. And life was meant to be simple...wasn't it?

I met a very good friend yesterday and it was so nice to see her. She announced she was leaving the city because it was not a good place to raise her Aboriginal children. She wants them to be raised in a city where there are a variety of people who troll the streets begging or behaving in a manner that is frowned upon by society.  She said it was difficult to raise her Aboriginal children here.

It is true that Aboriginal people are over-represented in this city because there is a large percentage of Aboriginal people living here, in fact, in all of Canada, this city has the highest per capita population of Aboriginal people. On top of that Aboriginal people are over-represented among the poor.

We would often hear about the Residential School System ,colonialism and capitalism that are at the root of Aboriginal people's negative situation and I do not disagree with that.  However most Aboriginal people have made progress in their lives in spite of the historical difficulties. So, when we are confronted with our circumstances, I believe that instead of blaming anything outside of ourselves, we must take responsibility for what happens to us.  This is the teaching of Dr. Wayne Dyer whom I listen to quite often. If we continue to blame anyone else, we will be waiting on those people to make amends before we can move on with our lives but if we take full responsibility for whatever happens to us then the power is in our own hands to step out of it in spite of.

He said even if you are have suffered the trauma of sexual or physical abuse you have to take responsibility for it. You have to own it all. You have to tell yourself that you did not know better and you did what you did - you remained quiet, you allowed people to abuse you or feed you unhealthy foods to made you fat - you have to own it all. Because there are people and children faced with the same situation who responded differently. You have to then forgive yourself and promise now that you know better you are going to do better.  If you don't you will be colluding in the ongoing victimization of you by other people and circumstances.

   Most Aboriginal people, most people who were abused as children have chosen to respond to such trauma differently, some have chosen to fight back and others just did not know what to do and stuck with it.  This does not make you a bad person just a person who did not know better.  It does not absolve those who committed crimes against you but you have taken leave of it to live your best life in spite of what happened in the past.  The present, now, is all we really have. The past is history and if we life there, we are missing out on active living wasting energy on what cannot be changed instead of changing what we can.

What I am saying does not mean you have to forget what happened but you do not have to continue living there.  Its like slavery. What happened was atrocious but if all Black people walked around with a chip of their shoulder there would be no President Obama. We have to stare down demons of the past, put them to bed and engage in life. Take our birthright which is living a happy successful life and it starts in the mind.

Persistence pays off

How many of us give up the first time our plans did not pan out especially if we lose a few dollars. If you want to be successful you have to develop the mindset of successful people. Successful people do not give up and do not see failure as a bad thing but as an opportunity to learn and try something different.  Successful people would speak in terms  like "I encountered a little bump on the road - nothing that can't be fixed" instead of saying "just my luck" "total failure" "I guess that was not meant to be" - this is how people who do not live up to their potential frame things. Every failure is an opportunity to learn. When you awfulize a situation more awful things are likely to occur.
Develop a success mindset and see a rainbow behind every cloud.

Today is going to an exciting day

Do you know you create what shows up in your day. Most of the time what shows up is our interpretation or judgment of events. We like to judge things good or bad, right or wrong and so on and then we let our emotions align with our judgement.
What if you see the good in everything for today?  See everyone as a special teacher who appear in your life to teach you something that you need to move forward. Sometimes people appear and they push our buttons and then you have to ask yourself, why is my button being pushed, what is it saying about me. You generally know the answer. The heart knows everything. The heart is the seat of knowledge past, future and the present. Remember the first thing that announced your beginning in this physical world was your heart beat when there was nothing else there. No ears, no hands, no head, no nothing, just your beautiful beating heart, beating a song for you. Just for you. The heart knows. Check in often with your heart, speak to it softly, gently, ask it questions and wait for the answer, it always comes.  You are so loved and when you embrace that loving, generous person you are that is what you will be broadcasting in the world, when people see you they will see your beautiful light shining and you will affect them positively as you pass by. Be a light my beautiful friends, shine your light into the world.

Law of Attraction

I was listening to a talk last weekend by Marilyn Jennette, a spiritual new agey kind of a person but she had some interesting things to say about the law of attraction.
I am sure you have heard about this law of attraction before. I heard about it a few years ago, when The Secret came out. A friend of mine was on her last throes of terminal cancer and we were into this book thinking it may save her. Unfortunately it did not.
Well, what Marilyn said made sense. The subconscious mind is our willing servant. It controls a lot of what goes on in us.  Whatever we put our mind on it tries to fulfill for us. So if you are trying to attract something to yourself, the subconscious mind interprets this as something that is missing and so it provides you with more of what is missing.

We are indeed our thoughts. 

The secret according to Jennette is if you want to attract wealth, health, friendship, love, you have to think in terms of already having it.  For example if you want more money to flow into your life, you have to focus on what is, you have to imagine yourself, living your dream. How would it feel if had a million dollars in your bank account, how would you feel if you had the perfect love, if you had the most exciting job, think of the emotions, feel it, bathe in it, dance in it, jump for joy in it, live in it.
In your energetic life it already is, it is only a matter of time for your subconscious mind to bring it in this reality.

This is the basic principle of the Law Of Attraction: What you consistently focus on...the Universe brings more of to you. DO NOT FOCUS ON WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE, FOCUS ON WHAT YOU HAVE AND MORE OF WHAT YOU HAVE WILL COME TO YOU EASILY AND EFFORTLESSLY MY FRIENDS.

Happy Mother's Day

Even though every day is mother's day, I hope that today you are made to feel especially special by your loved ones and even if they do not make you feel special I hope you know that you are a very special person because you are here.
Our children are our teachers. They teach us a lot of things and I am grateful that I have a few to help me back to myself and my heart.

May you feel the love vibration all around you. Today on facebook for example there is so much love being shared to women, dads who are doing the mom and dad thing and all women in general. Even if you did not birth a child you are still a mother if you ever opened your heart to a child.you are a mother is much more than 15 hours of labour.
Treat yourself to something special. You are a divine spark and you are truly loved. I want you to receive it and treat yourself to something special. You deserve it.

It's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood

How is it in your neighbourhood? Is it beautiful today? Do you feel the flow of abundance? Have you had breakfast? How did you sleep last evening? Did you have a bed to sleep on? Did a friend call you or call on you? What blessing was bestowed upon you.  Could you find something right now to be grateful for? Looking a life from a position of gratitude is magical.  You feel great, unstoppable and look for things in your life to be grateful for and the more you look, the more reasons you find to be grateful.  Remember, where attention goes energy flows.  Thin of a few things you can be grateful for and feel that gratitude swelling in your heart and expanding through your entire body and then outside of your body, feel it growing all over your house, your yard, your city, your country and to the world and beyond. Take a few deep breaths inhaling through your nose and letting it slowing out through a crack between your lips so quietly that a person sitting next to you cannot hear. Do that a few times and then return to the task at hand. Feel the shift in your energy and hold it there for as long as you can.

Taming your monkey mind

Even the best of us sometimes are dogged by recurring thoughts that we cannot seem to shake. The more you try to shake off unwanted thoughts the more fiercely they cling to you.

Experts and gurus alike suggest that it is futile to try to stop thinking about something you don't want to think about. The best strategy is to replace that thought with another thought a good example is to find a mantra that you like and repeat it as often as it takes to get that unwanted thought out of your mind.

How are you today?

Good morning world, and good morning my friends. I am feeling fabulous. The sun is shining out of a clear blue sky, I just had a soda biscuit with a cup of medium roast "fair trade" coffee that hit the spot. My coworkers are all great and wished me good morning with smiles and laughter. I feel like a million dollar right now. Life is good and I am ready to face the rest of the day expecting more abundance and joy along the way. Yes, I am expecting and so it will be.  My mind is clear and I have no fear - the rhyme was not intended but it sounds good.

How are you doing today

I just returned from a wonderful brunch with about 30 women of all ages celebrating womanhood and mother hood. We heard from three speakers a young mother a middle aged mother and a grandmother. It was beautiful. The energy was great and I am still on a high.

I hope wherever you are reading this that you are okay too. I care about you because we're one. I'm over this illusion of difference. We are cells of one womb - mother earth and when one cell is not doing too well it affects the entire body.So be well.  Embrace life and remember that it is our interpretation of an event that creates feelings good or bad within us. There are not right or wrong, up or down, in and out - these are all our interpretations we have put on the changing nature of our world. The only constant is change and with this change sometimes we are on top of the mountain and other times we are in the valley but we are not going to stay in either place forever, because everything is movement, everything is energy and everything is good.

In my neck of the wood it is a fantastic day of blues skies, sunny day and people raking leaves in shorts and looking quite happy.

We don’t have to reject them or distance ourselves from them, but a detachment from them, a detachment at the level of the consciousness that will bring back our inner freedom. Detachment is then accompanied by the experience of a deep, inner awareness of satisfaction and stillness, because you stop being dependent on anything or anyone outside ourselves.

It is highly unlikely that we will arrive at this deep state of fulfillment very soon - though we may touch it and experience it temporarily. It is only by understanding and accepting completely that everything is the way it is meant to be at every moment, both outside our minds and inside our minds that we move closer to being content.

What if

What if everything that is happening to you is good for you. It is the universe trying to teach you a lesson to make you a better more successful person.  It's not what is happening to us is the problem, it is how we think about it, it is how we perceive and judge it and then react to that judgement.
What if we are grateful and thankful for everything that shows up in our lives? What if we welcome difficulties?  What if we just accept things the way they are without putting a lot of judgement on them, how will that affect our heart space. How would you feel if you could not think thoughts that upset you?
What if you really could not think such thoughts? How would you feel? What if you couldn't think the thoughts that keep you away, what if?
After you contemplate on these questions you would see that you are just a thought away from feeling great and perfect.  Find a reason to celebrate your experiences and sometimes to even laugh at them.



A conscious realization of our innate oneness with the Ineffable does not mean that we will never make a mistake again. Even enlightened beings burn their bagels once in a while. It’s important to maintain a sense of humor because this is how you will stop being afraid of making a mistake. You’ll make some, but so what? That’s why they’re called mis-takes.
